APPEAL A RATING

2019 Year-End Rating Appeal's Process 
(2021 & 2022 Championship Year)

Only a player may appeal his/her 2019 Year-End Rating when they are logged into Tennislink.

To file an appeal, you must choose the “Appeal Rating” link at the bottom of this page and you will be taken to the Tennislink login page.  You will be prompted to enter your USTA # and password. Once you are logged in, underneath your rating, you will see an "appeal rating" link. Click this and follow the steps.  You will be notified immediately as to whether your appeal is granted or denied.
 

Reasons an appeal may be granted:

  • All players who calculated in 3 or more matches, whose rating is within .10 above NTRP level, will be granted.
     

  • All players who calculated in 4-5 matches, whose rating is within .08 above NTRP level, will be granted.
     

  • All players who calculated in 6-7 matches, whose rating is within .06 above NTRP level, will be granted.
     

  • All players who calculated in 8-9 matches, whose rating is within .04 above NTRP level, will be granted.
     

  • All players whose rating is within .02 above NTRP level, will be granted.
     

  • All players whose rating is within .04 below NTRP level, will be granted. 
     

  • Players age 60 or older whose 2019 Year-End rating is higher than their previous 3 Year-End Computer (C) ratings without benefit of a previous appeal, will be granted. Self-rated (S) are not eligible.
     

  • Players age 65 or older whose 2019 Year-End rating changed from their most recent valid Computer (C) rating, will be granted.
     

Reasons an appeal may be denied:

  • Players who participated in an Adult 18 & Over and/or Adult 40 & Over League National Championship. 
     

  • Players who have played 10 or more matches during the Adult League seasons (age divisions combined). 


MIXED EXCLUSIVE APPEAL

  • All of the Year-End Appeals and ...

  • New player (self-rated) with 4 or fewer dynamic ratings may be granted an appeal if it falls within .20 above the level.

 
MEDICAL APPEAL

  • Permanent disabling injury or illnesses occurring after year-end ratings were achieved (with supporting documentation.)

 
ELECTRONIC SELF-RATE ON TENNISLINK

  • Self-ratings can be automatically appealed UP to a higher level.

  • Self-ratings can only be requested to be appealed DOWN to a lower level during the self-rate process, or when attempting to register for a team with a lower NTRP rating than their assigned self-rate.
